Event Description

Full Description:
Professor Ulrik Wisloff from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (ntnu.edu/cerg) will present how he and his team translated heart rate data and health outcome from a large health survey in Norway (ntnu.edu/hunt) into an algorithm, which they named the Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI).

This new scientifically proven metric (PAI) aims to inform people whether they are physically active enough to stay healthy for longer. Professor Wisloff will present some of the data behind PAI but mainly tell the story how a scientific idea ended up in a journey that included big-data collection, patenting, company establishment, meeting with Apple, and finally ending up in the wearable consumer market.
