Event Description

Full Description:
Professor Colin Clifford, Professor & ARC Future Fellow, School of Psychology, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Presents: Vision in an Uncertain World: Processing of Contour Orientation in Human Primary Visual Cortex
Abstract: It is often said that we live in an uncertain world. Our neural processes face a generic problem of dealing with uncertain sensory input and inherently noisy internal representations. Here, I describe a series of recent fMRI and psychophysical studies demonstrating the effect of sensory uncertainty on the processing and perception of contour orientation in neurotypical human observers.
