- The Edge Student Leadership Series with Sonya Sawtell-Rickson, Senior Director, QIC
BEL SET is excited to bring to you Sonya Sawtell-Rickson, the Senior Director at QIC for the next Edge Student Leadership Series.
Sonya is a UQ Alumna having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Economics and Political Science from UQ. She has 16 years’ experience in the investment management industry. Prior to joining QIC, Sonya held the position of General Manager, Investment Services at QSuper, one of Australia’s largest superannuation funds.
Sonya will recount her unconventional journey to become an Investment Director at QIC and a member of its Executive Committee. She will share personal stories of her climb on the corporate ladder, and the life and leadership lessons accumulated along the way. She believes that it's ok not to know what you want to be in your 20s, or even late 30s, and that continuing to invest in yourself via good habits can create 'accidental' and unforeseen opportunities.
