- The UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health invites you to their workshop Research Ethics: Important requirements, principles and practices in research involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The workshop is being held in Research Week, on Wednesday 16th September from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the Riverview Room, Emmanuel College.
The workshop will be facilitated by Professor Cindy Shannon, UQ's Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Education), and A/Prof Jon Willis, Research Director of the UQ Poche Centre.
The objective of the workshop is to provide an understanding of protocols of ethical behaviour in research involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The session commences with an overview of national guidelines and minimum requirements, and from there, builds into the core principles and appropriate approaches to the ethical conduct of Indigenous research. The workshop will also have a large practical focus, with group work and discussion using common challenges and issues confronted by researchers.
