Professor Jochen Mueller (PhD, Professor Environmental Toxicology) has studied at the University of Hohenheim and ERGO Research, in Germany. Subsequently he moved to Brisbane for his PhD (Griffith University 1992-1997) and as a visiting student at Bayreuth University in 1995.
He joined EnTox at The University of Queensland in 1997. The work of his team at EnTox encompasses many aspects of exposure monitoring for trace organic pollutants. He is working very closely with governments (state, federally and internationally including UNEP and WHO) on the development of systematic monitoring strategies and has established an extensive sample archive.
Jochen has (co)authored more than 200 scientific papers incl. journal articles, book chapters and major reports for governments, many of these have influenced policy. A key focus of his teams work is on measuring exposure changes resulting from intervention and relating changes in exposure to health and/or environmental outcomes.
