- The 2015 conference of ASFLA (Australian Systemic Functional Linguistics Association) will be held on the St Lucia campus of The University of Queensland 29 Sep – 1 Oct (during the mid-Semester 2 break) with Pre-Conference Institutes on Mon 28 Sep. Day 1, Tue 29 Sep, is designated a Teachers Day.
The conference theme is 'Linguistics, Literature and Verbal Art: Inheritances and Developments'. In addition to addressing the interface between linguistics and literature, the conference will be of interest to those involved in teaching and teacher education. The Australian Curriculum's English component and its Literacy General Capability draw on a view of language derived from systemic functional linguistics.
