Event Description

Full Description:
Christian theologies are in a state of transition as they seek to engage more fully with contemporary scholarship and society’s needs. Pentecostal theology too is changing, from its earlier emphasis on popular revivalism, experientialism and subjectivism. This presentation explores developments in contemporary Pentecostal theologies and theologians such as Amos Yong, Simon Chan, Steven Land, Wolfgang Vondey, James K.A. Smith and others who have sought to show how renewal movement emphases on the Holy Spirit, intuitive experience, innovation, worship and mission can contribute to a theology that benefits all traditions and addresses the interests of contemporary churches and societies.
